I don't use protein powder every day and I believe it's not absolutely necessary with a well-balanced diet. However, there are times during the week when a quick shake simply saves my life.

A protein powder-based drink is great for me after a workout when I don't have time for a regular meal, and also on days when my diet isn't perfect and I'm lacking protein. It's also a great option for a quick pre-workout breakfast when I need energy but don't want to overload my stomach.

Ingredients (for 1 serving):

  • 1 serving of chocolate-flavored protein powder (mine has 20 g of protein per serving)

  • 1 banana

  • a few fresh or frozen strawberries (or raspberries)

  • 200 g of natural skyr without added sugar (1 package – I used 15 g of protein)

  • 2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter (approx. 20 g)

  • approx. 100 ml of water (adjust the amount to your favorite consistency)

  • optional: 1 tablespoon cocoa (for a deeper, chocolate flavor)

Preparation:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. Pour the finished cocktail into a glass. If you prefer a more refreshing version, add a few ice cubes.

  3. It is best to drink the drink immediately after preparation, but you can also store it in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours.
